This article provides substantial evidence about Pediococcus pentosaceus OBK5 isolated from buttermilk, that it can be used as an effective probiotic formulation and various treatments by studying all the key in vitro probiotic characteristics.

This study investigates the nutritional profiling of Traditional Palm Nectar (TPN) to evaluate the probiotic and its therapeutic attributes. They were tested for various tolerance, anticancer, antimicrobial and antioxidant activity to assess the probiotic potential.

This study aims to provide informative insights into microbial biodiversity of the Western Ghats. The diversity was analyzed using both laboratory culture methods, biochemical tests and metagenomics which led to the identification of 42 different bacteria from the peripheral areas.

Complete genome analysis was done for Phytobacter diazotrophicus strain UAEU22 isolated from the rhizosphere of the date palm. The isolated DNA was subject to whole genome sequencing and 16 rRNA based bacterial typing.

Pseudomonas atacamensis Strain SM1 and Pseudomonas toyotomiensis Strain SM2, isolated from the Date Palm Rhizosphere, were subject to complete genome analysis. The whole genome sequencing and genome assembly studies carried out revealed various gene modals which will be useful for understanding the molecular mechanisms of promoting plant growth in an arid environment.

Complete genome analysis was done for PGPR bacterium Pantoea agglomerans isolated from the date palm rhizosphere resulting in identifying a single gap-free circular genome of 4,040,62bp. The gene annotation study and the whole genome analysis will pave the path to identify key genes involved in nitrogen metabolism.

The genetic diversity and origin of the breed Bos indicus is evaluated in this study by sequencing and analyzing the whole mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) along with seven indian cattle breeds.Further a phylogenetic analysis and genetic distance estimation carried out provides a baseline information to develop appropriate strategies for management and conservation of indian cattle breeds.

The present study addresses the occurrence of G82S RAGE polymorphism in Alzheimer’s disease, and its association with the expression of sRAGE and amyloid beta load (Aβ peptide). The results indicated that the heterozygous genotype (GS) was distributed more than the wild genotype (GG) in patients with AD.

This trial investigates identifying a potential novel target for SARS-CoV-2 to block viral entry and stop its replication. Spike protein N terminal domain (NTD) is essential for viral entry and replication in human cells. Thus, S1NTD is identified to be a potential target for early treatment of Covid-19.

Researchers have been studying the relationship between gum disease and cardiac health. Existing data shows that inflammasomes play a role in periodontal disease pathogenesis. This study has the objective of assessing NLRP3 (rs4612666) and CARD8 (rs2043211) gene polymorphisms in dental plaque and blood of generalized chronic periodontitis (CP) patients in the presence and absence of coronary heart disease (CHD).

The emergence of multi drug resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae and its clonal groups (CG147) involvement in nosocomial outbreaks across the world. The unknown population dynamics has led the researchers of this article to investigate and report a pandrug resistant ST147- a clonal isolate from India. A study was also conducted to define the evolution and global emergence of CG147

The infestation of Vargula tsujii in fishes from Indian water is reported for the first time in this study. Its prevalence, abundance level for seasonality is presented in this paper. Ostracoda is a diverse group of aquatic crustaceans and often infest the fishes and cause huge economic losses. In the present study, the infestation of Ostracoda Vargula tsuji in major food fishes Lethrinus ornatus and Carangoides gymnostethus was studied.

This article is about designing innovative protective devices and SOPS to protect the lab personnel in dedicated COVID hospitals with low resource settings. The devices were evaluated in the dedicated COVID 19 hospitals. Performance of the devices were clinically validated to be used as an alternative in low resources settings.

Alterations in the microbiome have been linked to Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). The current research assessed such changes in OSCC patients by performing 16S rRNA metagenomic analysis of saliva samples. The analysis were performed by next generation sequencing for the entire 16S rRNA.

This article reports the diagnosis of Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis Type 2 in a four and a half year old girl from Jammu and Kashmir. A “Bottom-up Approach” design was used for the diagnosis of this disease.Next generation sequencing confirmed a missense variation in exon 8 of TPP1 gene. This study also establishes the effectiveness of the “Bottom-up Approach” in understanding rare disorders in low resource regions.

This study reports the case of diagnosing a four day old male neonate with Pierre Robin syndrome without any familial history of congenital anomalies. Molecular analysis was performed by extraction of DNA followed by sequencing the SOX9 gene. During the analysis of the sequence a mutation was found in exon 1 of the SOX9 gene suggesting that the gene SOX9 has a role to play in the disorder.

This article conducted a phylogeny and comparative venomics investigation of kraits in Southern and Western India to understand the distribution of genetically distinct lineages of kraits, the compositional differences in their venoms and the consequent impact of venom variation on the preclinical effectiveness of antivenom therapy.

This study aimed to obtain the expression of NLRP3 (rs35829419) and IL-1 (+3954) gene polymorphisms in the subgingival plaque and blood samples of generalized periodontitis (GP) subjects with and without coronary heart disease (CHD) to assess their pivotal role in periodontal disease pathogenesis.

The authors of this research article sequenced the complete mitochondrial genome of Cheiracanthium triviale for the first time. The obtained sequence was compared with 43 existing sequenced spider species to study about gene arrangements, control region and phylogeny.

This study investigates the evolutionary history of N. sagittifera and its venom proteomics, biochemical and toxicity profile. A phylogenetic reconstruction was done to understand the relationship between N.sagittifera and the Southeast Asian monocellate cobra (N. kouthia).A comparative venomics study also revealed the critical need to manufacture region specific anti venoms.

This article talks about understanding the impact of structural geometry and suitable chemical functionality of a molecular probe for its efficient binding in the minor groove of DNA. The investigated properties of the probe helped in identifying cell compatible, bright and photostable molecular probes for nuclear imaging.
